Maths can feel daunting for many children, but with the right support it can also become one of their strongest subjects. At Education Support Hub, I use my extensive experience to help pupils not only master the basics but also develop the confidence and problem-solving skills needed to succeed.

Every child learns differently, which is why I begin with an age-appropriate assessment to identify strengths and any gaps in understanding. From there, I create a clear action plan tailored to your child. Often difficulties in maths stem from missed steps in previous years, so I take time to rebuild these foundations carefully.

Confidence with the four core operations—addition, subtraction, multiplication and division—is essential. Once these are secure, we move onto broader topics with the reassurance that your child has the skills to tackle them.

Alongside following the National Curriculum, I also introduce SEAG Transfer Test style questions from an early stage. This allows children to become familiar with the wording and style of exam questions, reducing anxiety and helping them feel prepared.

My approach blends patient teaching, proven strategies and a focus on progress. Over the years, many of my pupils have gone on to achieve excellent results in both their schoolwork and the Transfer Test.
